Notes and Editorial Reviews
On their first harmonia mundi recording to celebrate their collaboration with maestro Riccardo Minasi, Ensemble Resonanz is joined by guest soloist Jean-Guihen Queyras for a program of works by the great C.P.E. Bach. Featuring two cello concertos and the Symphony in G major, these performances showcase the sheer pleasure of the composer's music.
Queyras relishes this craggy landscape, his phrasing beautifully articulated, his sound mellow. The Hamburg-based Resonanz, who offer a performance both scintillating and elegant of a brief G major symphony, are equally impressive.
