Each CD included in this set is inspired by the wonders of childhood. The first CD, CARNIVAL, includes works by Camille Saint-Saëns, Prokofiev, Britten, and Rimsky- Korsakov. The second CD in this set, TOYS, brings together a collection of charming works about children and their toys by various composers including Fauré, Debussy, Bizet, Mozart, Pierné, and Tchaikovsky. The third CD, NATURE, draws children into the atmosphere of the countryside, allowing them to experience the sights and sounds of nature. Beginning with "Morning" from Grieg's Peer Gynt, this disc includes works by Smetana, Beethoven, Chopin, Vivaldi, and Grainger. FANTASY, the fourth CD in the set, invites listeners to let their imaginations run free while listening to some of the world's best-loved descriptive music, including A Midsummer Night's Dream, A Night on the Bare Mountain, Pictures at an Exhibition, "Uranus the Magician" from The Planets, and L'Apprenti Sorcier. The fifth CD in this set, LULLABIES, presents a collection of some of the most relaxing classics ever written. These will be especially appreciated by children at bedtime! The sixth and final CD of set, DANCE, includes some of the best loved works for dance, figure skating, and opera, including works ranging from Tchaikovsky's charming "Dance of the Little Swans" to Ravel's "Bolero."
