Maryland Boy Choir

Active: 1983
The Maryland Boy Choir is one of the leading choral organizations in the Washington, D.C. area; its membership is composed of boys from eight to fourteen years of age. It is directed by John McFarland, and is devoted to providing musical training and education to boys from the U.S. capital city and its metropolitan area in the neighboring state of Maryland. It is based in Riverdale, MD.

The Maryland Boy Choir is easily confused with the Maryland State Boychoir, an entirely separate organization directed by Frank Cimino and based in Baltimore, MD. It is noted for retaining its older boys up until age 18 by its innovative creation of a "changed voices" section that performs both separately and together with the boys with unchanged voices.
