Notes and Editorial Reviews

To judge from this issue, the Norwegian Chamber Orchestra are a skillful and flexible ensemble that under Iona Brown's direction can here both partner and accompany a soloist supportively. Both these concertos are predominantly sunny works and although their keys are as far apart as possible they make a satisfying coupling. The Swiss pianist Brigitte Meyer is a fluent and sensitive artist and I have found her playing always intelligent and often beautiful, so that this well recorded issue is safely recommendable.
