Peter Mussbach's highly stylized production is an agonizing lament over lost innocence. Dale Duesing, in the title role, is a charismatic, agile performer and Kristine Ciesninski, as Marie, is a consummate singer and actress of Berg's work. Sung in German with English subtitles.
