Notes and Editorial Reviews

The Chinese pianist, Zhu Xiao-Mei, was born into a family of artists. At the age of 8 she performed on piano in radio and television broadcasts in Beijing. At ten years, she entered into the National School of Music for exceptionally gifted children. However, her studies there were stopped during the years of the Cultural revolution, including five years in a work camp, where, despite difficulties, she managed to practice the piano in hiding place. In 1979 she left China for the USA, where her performances have been recognized with considerable distinction. - Mirare The Chinese pianist, Zhu Xiao-Mei, was born into a family of artists.
