Bel Canto fan November 15, 2012 By Perry S. (New Plymouth, -) See All My Reviews "I already had the Gala recording of this opera but got tempted by reviews that this Myto recording had better sound, and so got this as well. Yes it has slightly better sound, but I prefer Anderson's voice to Scotto's so they finish much on a par. I make my own discs of highlights and when I have done this with each label, the sound on both are good and the hardness of Scotto's voice when singing the higher notes seems to have moderated. Strangely, Scotto sounds very good when she sings the stratospheric notes more softly. Both recordings are good, so it depends on your choice of sopranos as to which should be your pick. I like them both." Report Abuse
