This CD boasts a wide assortment of material, the strongest being the instrumental tracks. Although the vocal works, such as 'A Homero,' dedicated to famed tango lyricist Homero Manzione, are touching and performed with heartfelt abandon, it is the non-vocal selections that prevail. The luxurious 'Tanguedia' starts the CD off with a bang, and Mosalini's expert musicianship accentuates the rhythms and movements of this great work. 'Preludio no 9' is another example of Piazzolla's compositional genius, with Mosalini, pianist Osvaldo Calo and guitarist Fulvio Paredes all competently backed by conductor Werthen. This collection contains a symbiosis of cultures, styles, and above all, expert musical ability. Read less
