Music from Heaven January 3, 2018 By Robert Petrus (Montclair, NJ) See All My Reviews "The Dominican nuns sing one gorgeous song/hymn after another. Several of them are their own compositions. Especially I would mention "Snowflakes." The sound is celestial, the harp accompaniment equally ethereal. For sacred music sung as prayer, this album glows with glory. I have given several as Christmas gifts." Report Abuse
Jesu, Joy of Man's Desiring January 2, 2018 By Joanne M. (Dallas, TX) See All My Reviews "An absolutely divine recording. So meditative, yet joyful. I was very moved by the rendering of familiar Christmas carols, and ones rarely heard. Angels We Have Heard on High would be a fitting alternative title for this album as the singing is angelic. Thank you, Sisters." Report Abuse
Chorale masterpiece December 22, 2017 By Janice Poss (Claremont, CA) See All My Reviews "As I have been listening to various tracks on this album, I was swept away this morning by their version of Jesu, Joy of [our] desiring! In our choir at Good Shepherd Church in Beverly Hills, CA we replace the androcentric words with inclusive nouns and pronouns. However, hearing all the verses of this song I learned there were more than 4 that are traditional sung. Their voices are beautifully harmonious and the other songs, such as Gaudete and Gabriel's Message are joyous and make the soul soar as this kind of music should! I am glad this is the Album of the week on KUSC and I actually bought 2 copies as I want to hear the rest of the songs!" Report Abuse
