Notes and Editorial Reviews

L'Abbaye de Saint-Benoit-du-Lac is a Benedictine monastery that was founded in 1912 in southeastern Quebec. Through their teaching, their recordings, and above all their example, the monks of Saint Benedict Abbey in Saint-Benoit-du-Lac have been, for over 80 years, staunch advocates of the Gregorian chant movement that spread from Solesmes, France in the last century. There is peacefulness to Gregorian chant that naturally brings about an inner calm that we all desire. This compilation of previously released chants will not only help with mind focus and meditation but will also reduce stress. Relaxation is guaranteed with this release!

REVIEW:

This makes a nice program, for the singing is
Read more straightforward in the older tradition, prayerful, beautifully engineered. No texts included however, which is unfortunate since the Marian chants taken from the first disc are uncommon on records.

Never disappointed! March 17, 2018 By Joanne K. (Toronto, ON) See All My Reviews "I've never been disappointed in the array of titles offered by ArkivMusic nor in purchases I've made. This particular one by the monks of St.-Benoit-du-Lac is a stunner, which I now often enjoy." Report Abuse
