Gilels at his best!July 23, 2014By Thomas Hedstrom (Skokie, IL)See All My Reviews"This concert was incredible! Especially the Rachmaninoff Preludes. In particular Opus 3, No.2 and Opus 23, No.2. The Prokofiev Piano Sonata No. 3 was also very moving. Gilels' transition from the quiet middle section of the sonata to the ending is done with incredible accuracy, technique and power. In fact, Gilels puts much power and emotion into much of this performance. See the magic of Gilels in this amazing DVD."Report Abuse
