Jacob Clement alias Clemens non Papa was one of the leading Flemish composers of the 16th century. Although known for his sacred works, he led an extremely dissolute life. But this degree of inspiration that reflects his lively imagination and his virtuoso command of counterpoint, made him the most popular composer of chansons of his generation. This CD celebrates his 500th anniversary with world premiere recordings of sacred works as well as three of his famous 'Souterliedekens' (Psalter Songs).
