Dear ArkivMusic Customer,

Finland's premier, independent classical music label, Ondine, is on sale now at ArkivMusic!

Find recordings of works by Beethoven, Schubert, Brahms, and Debussy, as well as the country's exalted native composers, including Sibelius, Rautavaara, and Saariaho, all played with the utmost conviction and all sensationally recorded.

Below are eight of our favorite Ondine titles:

Beethoven: Triple Concerto & Piano Concerto No. 3 / Vogt, Tetzlaff, Royal Northern Sinfonia
The Triple Concerto represents the composer taking a break from high seriousness, and here it’s a delight. The Piano Concerto, directed from the keyboard, gets a thrilling performance from all. (Audiovisual clips)
$12.99 – New Release

Rautavaara: Works for Cello & Piano / Tetzlaff, Sussmann
As a mind-blowing display of technical accomplishment, one can only offer congratulations to the cellist who has a gorgeous 1776 Guadagnini cello and an outstanding long-term piano partner. Very good recorded quality and most highly recommended. (Audiovisual clip)
$11.99 – New Release

Brahms: Song of Destiny / Martin, Eric Ericson Chamber Choir, Gavle Symphony
The darkly-hued, larger choral pieces concerning fate and destiny are deliciously balanced by the selection of waltzes. The choir is perfectly balanced and sing with impeccable intonation, the excellent orchestra also play most attractively. (Audiovisual clip)
$12.99 – New Release

Schubert & Haydn: String Quartets / Tetzlaff Quartett
A ClassicsToday 10/10! This is a throwback: a release that just lets the greatness of the music speak for itself and offers interpretations that justify the program through purely musical means. (Audiovisual clips)
$12.99 – 2017 Release

Sibelius: Complete Works for Mixed Choir / Estonian Philharmonic Chamber Choir
The pieces on this rewarding recording range from folk songs suffused with Finnish character to enigmatic works with sometimes dark lyrics. A winner of a release. – New York Times (2 CDs) (Audiovisual clips)

Debussy: Preludes & Children's Corner / Jumppanen
This fascinating set presents the Finnish pianist's bona fides as a musician of keen intelligence and almost preternatural sensitivity. After a listen to only a few bars of a given piece it becomes difficult to imagine how the work could be played any other way. (Audiovisual clip)
$12.99 – (2 CDs) – New Release

Saariaho: Trios
These performances by musicians having a close working association with the composer are ideal. They are also superbly served by the beautiful recording. An important addition to her ever-growing discography and a must for all devotees of her music. (Audiovisual clip)

Shostakovich: Suite on Poems by Michelangelo; Liszt: Petrarca Sonnets / Hvorostovsky, Ilja
There are few things finer than this singer in full flight, and the Petrarch Sonnets allow him the chance to open up the Italianate warmth in his baritone, with impassioned accounts, especially of Sonnet 47. (Audiovisual clips)
