Here are a dozen of the enticing ArkivCDs now available at 3 for $30:*

Barber / Schippers, New York Philharmonic
As a tribute to the most gifted American conductor of his generation, this is striking and impressive. Indeed, if you wanted to make a case for Barber’s orchestral music, you could scarcely do better than this.

The Pleasures of the Royal Courts / Munrow, Early Music Consort
Early Music pioneer David Munrow leads The Early Music Consort of London in performances of pre-1500 music, drawing from the repertory of France, Germany, Italy, and Spain.

J. Strauss, Jr., Stravinsky / Boston SO Chamber Players
A ClassicsToday 10/10! Drawn from the celebrated Boston Symphony Chamber Players recordings made during the '70s, this CD is a true delight that should not be missed.

The Movies Go to the Hollywood Bowl / Pennario, Rozsa, Newman, Hollywood Bowl SO
Here are classic performances of great film scores conducted by the composers themselves, Miklós Rózsa and Alfred Newman.

Massenet: Therese / Tourangeau, Davies, Bonynge
For voice-fanciers, opera buffs, and lovers of romantic opera. On first acquaintance, I have fallen in love with this elegant score, matched here by elegant orchestral playing.

Josquin Desprez: Motets / Orlando Consort
A wonderfully sung anthology containing some of Josquin's greatest music.

Debussy: Images, Estampes / Paul Jacobs
Arguably the finest Estampes and Images on disc. Jacobs was unbelievably sensitive to nuance, and remains indispensable.

Les Boreades & Dardanus Suites / Bruggen, Orchestra of the 18th Century
One of the best recordings of music by Rameau, a master of the French Baroque whose work is unsurpassed in elegance and wit.

Hovhaness: Celestial Gate / Werthen, I Fiamminghi
If you are a Hovhaness fan, this disc is essential for its superb performances of Symphony No. 6 and Concerto No. 7. If you don't know Hovhaness but love music like Vaughan Williams's Tallis Fantasia and Barber's Adagio, this is a good introduction to the Armenian-American visionary.

Piano Music by Still & Other Black Composers / Monica Gaylord
Monica Gaylord has a beautiful touch for these winning works. She's at her most impressive extracting the delicate impressionistic colors from Still and Ellington. Fine sound and erudite notes by the pianist only add to the attractions. A first-rate reissue.

Beethoven: Der glorreiche Augenblick, Auf die Erhebung Leopold / Voigt, Bass
Beethoven's cantata honoring his adopted city of Vienna, Der glorreiche Augenblick (The Glorious Moment) will conquer you, for it is genuine Beethoven in every bar – big, great-hearted, exultant, and exalting.

Brigadoon & Kiss Me Kate - Original Television Soundtracks / Robert Goulet
The ABC network showcased freshly minted Camelot star Robert Goulet in live broadcasts of Brigadoon in 1966 and Kiss Me, Kate in 1968. Here are the cast recordings of those lovely scores.
