Dear ArkivMusic Customer,

Adventurous French label Naïve is now on sale at ArkivMusic, including the acclaimed Vivaldi Edition. Here are some of our favorite new releases and catalog titles from Naïve:

Schubert: Quintette A Deux Violoncelles / Anne Gastinel, Quatuor Diotima
A big, rich, fully romantic reading of Schubert’s string quintet with generous, even luxurious touches throughout. The sound quality is nothing short of stunning. $13.99

Arias For Caffarelli / Franco Fagioli
These scenes associated with Caffarelli, famed rival to Farinelli, are brought to life by Franco Fagioli with spectacular results. Fagioli is a truly dramatic exponent of this repertoire, and he evokes its milieu with panache and sensitivity. $13.99

Sacred Baroque Masterpieces
This collection of superb recordings from Naïve includes renowned sacred works of the Baroque era – Bach's B-Minor Mass, Monteverdi's Vespers, Pergolesi and Scarlatti's Stabat Maters, Allegri's Miserere – and more. $19.99 (6 CDs)

Grieg: Piano Concerto In A; Prokofiev: Piano Concerto No. 3 / Lugansky, Nagano
In the Grieg, Lugansky is as rhapsodic and affectionate as he is masterly. In the Prokofiev, his performance blazes with conviction complemented wth an innate sense of poetry. Where great recordings jostle for attention, Lugansky takes his own special place. $13.99

Douce France / Anne Sofie von Otter
The beloved mezzo spans two centuries of the French chanson, from Fauré and Debussy to Piaf and Trenet, bringing her exceptional sensitivity and intelligence to these timeless treasures of the French spirit. A pair of discs to warm any Francophile's heart. $13.99 (2 CDs)

Handel - Opera Seria / Sandrine Piau
Arguably the best Handel aria recording ever made by a soprano. The fine efforts of singers such as Emma Kirkby and Renée Fleming simply pale by comparison to the scintillating, virtuoso vocalism of Sandrine Piau. $9.99

Brahms: Violin Sonatas / Sergey Khachatryan, Lusine Khachatryan
This recording of Brahms’s violin sonatas has become my absolute favorite. Even if you have half-a-dozen of these on your shelf, do whatever you have to do to make room for this one; it’s truly special. $13.99

Janacek: Brumes D'enfance / Planes, Accentus
Beautifully performed, this is a must for fans of Janácek and represents rich pickings for newcomers interested in unusual choral repertoire. $13.99

Vivaldi: Concerti Per Archi II / Alessandrini, Concerto Italiano
As is apparent on this latest disc in Naïve's acclaimed Vivaldi Edition, the concertos for strings are a very special genre in Vivaldi's output, offering an amazing range of colors between all the intruments concerned. $13.99

Wagner: Der Fliegende Hollander; Dietsch: Le Vaisseau Fantome / Minkowski
Minkowski's Holländer is an excellent performance, sweeping, vital, and atmospheric, carried along by Evgeny Nikitin's dark, resentful Dutchman. $31.99 (4 CDs)

Ravel, Debussy / Thomas Zehetmair, Orchestre De Chambre De Paris
I never truly enjoyed Ravel’s Tzigane until I heard this zesty performance. Zehetmair casts away pleasantries and infuses the work with a raw savagery that does justice to its gypsy flavor. A delightful program from start to finish. $13.99

El Cant De La Sibil-la Catalunya / Figueras, Savall
Montserrat Figueras is a superb artist who every so often gives us an extraordinary program of surpassing beauty such as this one. The whole disc is mesmerizing. A classic. $9.99
