Christmas music from the first family of guitar January 5, 2013
By Michael S. (Saint Paul, MN) -- See All My Reviews
This CD has a mix of guitars with orchestra and small ensemble (due/trio/quartet) or guitars. I was hoping for a bit more "fire" and found some of the arrangements a bit safe, but overall this is an excellent addition to a guitar-lover's Christmas music collection. Report Abuse

Wonderful album. Sticks to the classic music - no schlock involved. Report Abuse

 Excellent Joice December 23, 2012

This is a very pretty and recommended album. The Romeros, as always, do a great job performing the Christmas songs in this album. Report Abuse

Refreshing instrumental interpretations December 22, 2012
By Kathleen Sagmiller S. (Poulsbo, WA) -- See All My Reviews
Los Romeros joins with the Spanish string orchestra Concerto Malaga to bring a varied mix of traditional Christmas and more complex melody of Ave Maria. Several people heard me play this disc in our exercise area and asked how to get it. Insturmental music, guitar as lead instrument, provides a pleasant background for the hoiday season with a more sophisticated sound. Report Abuse

Lovely, Seasonal Recording. December 12, 2012
By John Brodsky (Shrewsbury, NJ) -- See All My Reviews
I have been a fan of Los Romeros for many years. This is another excellent recording from the group. The music is traditional for the Crristmas season with several pieces that were new to this listener, particlarly a X'mas Suite by Massimo Paris, who is the conductor of the orchestra Concerto Malaga that accompanied the Romeros on several pieces.  A Royal Performance December 12, 2012
By G. Lewis (Wichita Falls, TX) -- See All My Reviews
Absolutely the foremost family of guitar in the world! The playing is impeccable as is the recording. My only criticism is,-come on guys! It's unique to hear For Unto Us and the Hallelujah Chorus from the Messiah played by a guitar ensemble and string orchestra but does it offer the same gratifying, uplifting listening experience as a Baroque orchestra and chorus would? Aside from this, I strongly recommend the album. Report Abuse

Stellar Arrangements Create a New Holiday Classic November 27, 2012
By Ellen M. (Jacksonville, FL) -- See All My Reviews
From the opening orchestral strains of "For Unto Us a Child is Born," I was hooked on this lovely collection of holiday music. The more full-bodied performances contrast with the intimacy of guitar solos, all with impeccable technique in a well-engineered album. A beautiful assembly of classic pieces also includes a new piece (Xmas Suite) composed for Los Romeros and you can feel the joy of performance on every track. I'm so happy to have this album as my soundtrack for the season. Report Abuse
