Henriëtta Bosmans

Biography

Born: December 5, 1895   Died: July 2, 1952   Country: Netherlands
Bosmans studied piano with her mother, Sarah Bosmans-Benedicts at the Amsterdam Conservatory. In addition to performing widely, she was an accompanist for many musicians. Her early works are romantic in nature, but after studying with Pijper in 1927 her compositions became more radical. By 1935 she began to synthesize both styles in her vocal works, many of which are written for French texts.
