"Rossini's "La cambiale di matrimonio" is a gem of a farsa opera, Rossini's first and in my opinion one of the best things he ever wrote. The music is scintilating, the singing gorgeous and the singers are all topnotch. The sets too are perfect in every way. This one act opera is only 82 minutes long but I wish it had been twice that length it is so good.Bel Canto singers Feller and Kuebler are superb aided by Del Carlo who can act as well as sing.Alberto Rinaldi as the so called Canadian "Slook" arrives in a bearskin coat with a rifle and sidearm and gives a hilarious performance. You cant beat this little gem of an opera, one that I watch at least once a month just to give me a lift. Simply great. "
