Notes and Editorial Reviews

This is eminently cultivated music-making with both players beautifully matching each other's approach. Every phrase is so musically thought out and vividly alive.

Tirelessly reissued and celebrated... Haskil was famous for lifting her partner's performances on to the highest level. Instantly aware of her quality Grumiaux rarely played better than in the Beethoven sonatas, and you will have to go a long way to hear two artists in more perfect accord than in the great final G major Sonata's otherworldly musings.
