Notes and Editorial Reviews

While we in the twenty-first century play and treasure music from Sch?tz to Bach as if we had created it ourselves, our stance toward Baroque literature is a much more critical one. The Baroque poets are no doubt closest to us when they speak of the Thirty Years War. For such destructive wars also left their mark on the mentality and the literature of our very recent past. Annette Dasch was born in Berlin in 1976. Very early in her career she began appearing in concerts of sacred music, in the works of Bach and the oratorios of Handel, Hadyn and Mendelssohn. She has also made radio recordings, given solo recitals, and made notable concerts.
