This disc was nominated for the 2000 Gramophone magazine award for "Best
Concerto Recording." It also received a Grammy Award nomination for "Best Instrumental Soloist(s) Performance (with Orchestra)."
In his time, Ferruccio Busoni was known better as a pianist than as a composer. Indeed, he was thought to be among the greatest to ever play the instrument. However, it is as a composer that Busoni defined himself, and since his passing, his music has become a monument to his dreams.
