Radiant rendition October 25, 2012 By Jan Chciuk-Celt (Portland, OR) See All My Reviews "While of course it's the singers, notably Brigitte Fassbaender, and the marvelous musicians of the Bayerische Staatsoper, who are responsible for making this radiant performance of Die Fledermaus a reality, it is the sublime presence of Carlos Kleiber on the podium that breathes such luminous life into the whole. The players seem to be thrilled that he's in the room. He knows when to beat strictest time with his baton and when to let these highly competent performers do their thing without interference. There are places where his baton simply draws a flat line for several measures -- they don't need lessons. Most radiant rendition EVER of this lovely operetta." Report Abuse
terrific May 6, 2012 By K. BAKER (HEBER CITY, UT) See All My Reviews "One could not hope for a better performance. It's not for nothing that Kleiber is widely considered to be the greatest conductor who ever lived." Report Abuse
