Notes and Editorial Reviews

"Sony's new transfer boasts greater definition in the treble and bass, with extra bloom in the strings. What's more, the finale no longer spills over to a second disc, enabling the listener to hear Bruno Walter's Bruckner 7th uninterrupted on one CD...Walter communicates his kinder, gentler vision of this music with love, authority, and conviction." -- Jed Distler "Sony's new transfer boasts greater definition in the treble and bass, with extra bloom in the strings.  My favorite Bruckner 7th February 21, 2013 By F. Heilberg (San Francisco, CA) See All My Reviews "I've downgraded this to 4 stars because it's not my favorite of Bruckner's symphonies, but I get the feeling that if I keep listening to this recording, I'll start thinking better of it. As I stated in my review of the 4th, Walter makes me feel like he is a friend, sharing something he really loves with me, and walking me through making sure I catch all of the piece's beauty and strength. I would strongly recommend this disc to someone new to the piece." Report Abuse
