A monumental work July 4, 2014 By Weston Williams (Birmingham, AL) See All My Reviews "This opera/mystery play is amazing, even revelatory. It's some of Orff's best work, and incorporates a lot of then-cutting edge techniques in imitation of old musical techniques combining with the new for an experience not quite like anything else. Thoroughly recommended." Report Abuse
Spectacular July 31, 2012 By Andrew Grygus (La Crescenta, CA) See All My Reviews "I purchased this CD to replace the original vinyl recording I bought some 40 years ago (rather than tediously de-pop a digital copy of the vinyl). I most certainly was not disappointed. This nearly unknown composition, and this performance as well, are deserving of much wider appreciation. Wonderful soloists and chorus, and Karajan is perfect for the rather harsh program of this piece. The digital re-master renders it all flawlessly." Report Abuse
