Terrific performanceMarch 20, 2014By Rory R. (Winnipeg, MB)See All My Reviews"We're told Haydn's operas don't work on stage, and maybe they don't, but the music for this Orfeo from 1967 makes one wish for some revival somewhere. Different from the usual telling of the Orfeo story, Haydn's opera provides singers with great opportunities, and Gedda and Sutherland take full advantage. The excitement of this live performance crackles throughout. Splendid throughout."Report Abuse
