a classicMay 30, 2013By J S E T. (West Grove, PA)See All My Reviews"The Bolshoi Opera, the 1950s, an all star cast and conductor: what's missing? Act 3, a normal excision at the time. Fine voices all around led by Ivanov, Pirogov, Lemeshev, and Reisen turn in a grandly dramatic performance. Melik-Pashaev recently named chief conductor lead a committed outsized performance. The mono sound is good and full. At this price with these voices the set is worth having as a reference on your shelf."Report Abuse
