Milstein's WOW performance January 27, 2013 By David E. (Dunbarton, NH) See All My Reviews "While driving someplace and listening to classical on the radio, they played this recording of Symphonie Espagnole. After concentrating on it as much as possible while driving, I decided I needed to own it and listen to it again. I was not disappointed. This performance is exceptionally well played (extremely close to perfection) and he hits virtually all the notes perfectly while maintaining the proper tempos. The only other recording that could exceed this one for perfection is a performance on LP I own of Ziguenerweisen by Sarasate played by Francescatti. Milstein captures the artistic content of this exciting piece by Lalo beautifully. If you enjoy virtuoso violin playing done very, very well, while creating the artistry envisioned by the composer, you may very well find this recording to be as awesome as I did." Report Abuse
