Great Russian music making July 10, 2014 By owen  r. (lakewood, CA) See All My Reviews "When I ordered this during an Arkiv sale I did not have high expectations for an older Meloyida recording. I was delighted with the remastering; rivals the best from the west. Not only was the recording first rate, the music-making was of the highest order. Russia has certainly produced some of our greatest musicians but lost them all (Kremer was effectively given the boot by idiot Soviet bureacrats). BBC Music Magazine recently ran a survey of the greatest violinist and ranked Kremer as number 6 overall.....on the basis of this CD I wonder if he should have been higher." Report Abuse
