On this recording David Miller plays both an 11-course lute built by Martin Haycock in Chichester in 1991, and a 14-course theorbo by the same maker in Charton, Sussex, in 1995.
On this recording Peter McCarthy plays both a 3-string "contrabasso" built in 1720 by Leopold Wildhaum of Nüremberg, and a 6-string "contrabasso da gamba" modeled on an instrument by Ventura Linarol of Padua in 1585.
