Liszt on an Erand GrandMay 20, 2012By P. Trim (Hamilton, New Zealand)See All My Reviews"Fred Oldenberg plays Liszt's Etudes D'execution Transcendante on an Erard Grand Piano - 1842, which gives space and fresh air to it all. Just the way it ought to sound. No bluster or bravuro to clutter it up. It is always a delight to listen to.
The Czerny Fingerfertigkeit, on a Yamaha, relishes the demands of it all, but is more of a test of skill than reward to the soul.
Both discs demonstrate the depths and skills of a wonderful pianist"Report Abuse
