A good Beatrice without and outstanding BeatriceAugust 14, 2013By Joseph Erdeljac (West Chester, PA)See All My Reviews"Although this is one of my most favorite Bellini operas the title role being one of my favorite parts, this Beatrice, Lucia Aliberti is rather thin in the upper register of her voice. This makes for rather tight tone production and not always a pleasing sound. The overall cast is good and although I am sure Aliberti is doing her best in this difficult role, my favorite recording still remains the London recording with Dame Joan Sutherland and Luciano Pavarotti. With all that said and done, this is a recording worth adding to your collection for Bellini lovers."Report Abuse
