Diana Damrau recital July 5, 2013 By Thomas I. (Lebanon, PA) See All My Reviews "What a stunning release! Diana Damrau offers us a varied and fascinating program of French melodies and German lieder with beautifully performed harp accompaniments. Accomplished as this soprano is in opera, she is equally at home in material of this type. Brian Large, who prepared some of the Met Opera's HD offerings, is responsible for the camera work and he is truly a master of his art. The picture quality and the manner in which this recital was captured by the camera deserve much praise. The disc also includes a lengthy and very interesting portrait of the soprano during which you follow her various activities for a year. You meet her teacher and observe her at work in various European opera houses. You also see her as a doting and devoted mother. - I recommend this DVD highly!" Report Abuse
