The year 2016 will be the one hundredth anniversary of the death of the composer, organist and pianist Max Reger, who was born in 1873 in Upper Palatinate. On this occasion, Bernhard Buttmann will be recording the complete organ works of Max Reger on CD until 2016 in cooperation with the Bavarian Broadcasting Corporation. Oehms Classics will be introducing 4 luxurious boxes, each with 4 CDs, on the market by 2016.
Volume 1 is concerned with the early works of Max Reger. Among these are the ree Pieces, Op. 7, Five Easily Playable Preludes and Fugues, Op. 56 and the Twelve Pieces, Op. 59.
