"My gut response shows the high standing Meneses enjoys among classical music-lovers. Though still quite young, he is already considered one of the masters of his instrument, an artist in the class of Rostropovich and Janigro, whose student he was. If he is not as attracted to the limelight as Yo-Yo Ma, his reputation is solid and grows with every passing year. Any new recording of his is eagerly awaited and warmly recommended.
