Notes and Editorial Reviews

Excerpt from a review of a prior CD issue:

The music is agreeably melodic and often nicely scored. Conductor James Levine takes it all seriously and the Met Orchestra respond with polished, lively playing.

uninspired April 25, 2017 By j. shelton (Alsea, OR) See All My Reviews "Bought this cd on a whim since I know little about Verdi's ballet music. I now understand why I've heard so little of it, it's rather boring and the performance of the MET orchestra is dull. I doubt this cd will get played much if ever." Report Abuse
