Notes and Editorial Reviews
Take one part rock musician/classical composer, one part electronica DJ and mix them together for a ‘turntable symphony.’
Sacha Puttnam, a founding member of international rock powerhouse Bush and Chris Coco, a renowned BBC Radio 1 DJ, join forces to create Remasterpiece on EMI Classics. Musical exploration at its innovative best.
Sacha Puttnam and Chris Coco have created a unique and trend setting sound of ambient mixes that will bring the classical genre to a new and cutting edge audience. Rooted in classical composition, Sacha Puttnam has collaborated on some well-known film scores to date, including “Die Hard” and his current Dennis Hopper project, “The Keeper.” Many rock fans will know him as a co-founder of
the band Bush, with schoolmate and front man, Gavin Rossdale.
His new musical partner, Chris Coco, is one of Britain’s most well known DJs, currently serving as host of the popular show “The Blue Room” on BBC Radio 1. Chris’ background is rooted in dance music, making his start in the Acid House movement of the late Eighties. While collaborating on upbeat club anthems, Chris also started working more frequently in the “chill out” genre and also producing projects with musicians like Nick Cave and the legendary Peter Green of early Fleetwood Mac. Remasterpiece is new territory for Chris, as he and Sacha fuse two unique worlds by re-working some of the most beautiful and well-known melodies in classical music.
