Notes and Editorial Reviews

Ian Bostridge is one of the only few tenors who specialize in lieder. Known for his distinctive voice and performance style who finds the essence of music, Bostridge is not only a vocalist who inspires passionate debate but also divides opinions. English composer Benjamin Britten was one of the most prolific song composers of the 20th century. His song cycles were an important part of his body of work. In celebration of Britten's 100th birthday anniversary, Ian Bostridge releases a recital disc devoted to the composer's lieder. Supporting Bostridge in this recording are Antonio Pappano playing piano, and Xuefei Yang playing guitar. Ian Bostridge is one of the only few tenors who specialize in lieder.
