Notes and Editorial Reviews

Giuseppe Verdi – his name has become the definitive symbol of Italian opera. No other composer succeeded in establishing so many of his works in the repertoire of the international opera stage. To commemorate the 200th anniversary of the composer’s birth we present five complete recordings in a 10 CD wallet box. It includes favourites such as Rigoletto and La Traviata but also rarities, e.g. I due Foscari.

Outstanding soloists can be heard, e.g. Mirella Freni, Rolando Panerai, Franco Bonisolli, Raina Kabaivanska, Vincenzo la Scola, Daniela Dessi, Paolo Coni and Michele Pertusi, accompanied by stars of the rostrum such as Francesco Molinari-Pradelli and Lamberto Gardelli.

This is a must for every lover of Italian
