a superb Turandot September 24, 2012

"this is one of the best Turandot's on record. Birgit Nilsson and Franco Corelly are the usual outstanding protagonists, in excellent voise, and emotionally involved. There is the addition of Gavazzeni as an excellent conductor and Galina Vishneskaya as a perfectly intoned and touching Liu. Some reviewers objected to the recording, saying that it has a tendency to wolf, i.e. half a note above the correct note. It may be, but I did not notice it, to me this is an outstanding recording."
