Serviceable recording of Respighi: Ancient Airs A July 14, 2013
By James Spence (Victoria, BC) See All My Reviews
"Despite the direction of Sir Neville Marriner, this recording is rather mediocre, lacking in the subtlety and clarity that might help to distinguish it from the many other recordings of this work. The Los Angeles Chamber Orchestra is not really up to the task, and the sound engineering/mastering is not of the highest quality."

"Having all three suites together is one of music's finer privileges and none better than under Marriner."
