A Tad Disappointing November 23, 2013

"I admit LaGioconda is one of my favorite operas in the Italian world. Unfortunately so much of this opera is good; well conducted and well sung by all except Urmana. She is a good mezzo=soprano and should stay within that venue. Above the staff she is straining and her voice is typical of most eastern Europaean voices; metallic with no warmth to it. She understands the part, and that is at least to her credit. Surprisingly Domingo is in good voice and aquits himself well as does the rest of the cast. D'Intino is a world class Laura and I likeddd Antonelli quite well."
