German composer Oliver Korte (b. 1969 in Hamburg) studied composition with Gösta Neuwirth and has taught at the Hochschule für Musik in Berlin as well as the University of Music and Theatre in Rostock. His compositions have won awards and grants and could be described as evocative soundscapes. In 2002 he earned a doctorate with a thesis on the ecclesiastical works of Bernd Alois Zimmermann. Most recently he is professor of music theory at the University of Music in Lübeck.
