Helmuth Rilling's recordings of the great oratorios over the decades would often feature outstanding young singers, whose international careers he con-founded, assisting them in their later and their meteoric rise. For example, Thomas Quasthoff, the bass soloist in Dvorák's "Stabat Mater" appeared at the 1995 Oregon Bach Festival.
