Notes and Editorial Reviews

Itzhak Perlman radiates a generosity of spirit that is reflected as much in the richness of his interpretations as in the irresistible exuberance of his virtuosity. This survey of his supreme achievement as a violinist embraces complete concertos by Bach, Vivaldi and Bruch, captivating pieces by composers from Paganini to Joplin, as well as collaborations with figures such as Daniel Barenboim and Andre Prévin.

DVD 1 follows closely Perlman's first visit to Moscow and Leningrad, and shows him not only as a supreme violinist but as a man of charisma, wit and compassion.

DVD 2 contains Itzhak Perlman's recital recorded in Moscow. It features the Israel Philharmonic conducted by Zubin Mehta and pianist Janet Goodman
