Alan Opie, one of the most distinguished baritones on the international opera scene, is the latest singer to be featured in Chandos' 'Great Operatic Arias' series. This Italian programme comprises mainly bel-canto repertoire and showcases Opie's brilliant technique. Available at mid-price, this disc contains two of the most famous bartione solos of all, Figaro's song from The Barber of Seville ('Here at last your service'), and the Prologue to Pagliacci.
