Famous Basses of the Past - Vol 2 September 22, 2012
By S. Bauman (Pacifica, CA) See All My Reviews
"An excellent selection of early recordings of basses. This second volume is just as magnificent as the first, especially since it was processed by the Preiser label. This outfit has consistently done top-notch work restoring 78rpm recordings. They are able to eliminate most of the noise without sounding artificial or adding reverberation. They are every bit as good as Ward Marston in lifting the sound out of the grooves and sounding as close as possible to the original discs. A real treasure."
