Famous Basses of the Past - Volume 2 September 24, 2013 By Robert B BELFORD (Crookwell, New South Wales) See All My Reviews "This CD is the type of CD more to my liking than any other type. I think it stems from the days when my late father was a prominent local singer. He had a beautiful lyric bass voice and could hold his own in any company. Therefore it was a joy to listen to the variety of bass voices on this CD. If I were to choose a favourite, it would have to be Cesare Siepi. He has been a favouite of mine for many years. I can recommend this Cd to anyone who loves the bass voice." Report Abuse
Famous Basses of the Past - Vol 2 September 22, 2012 By S. Bauman (PACIFICA, CA) See All My Reviews "An excellent selection of early recordings of basses. This second volume is just as magnificent as the first, especially since it was processed by the Preiser label. This outfit has consistently done top-notch work restoring 78rpm recordings. They are able to eliminate most of the noise without sounding artificial or adding reverberation. They are every bit as good as Ward Marston in lifting the sound out of the grooves and sounding as close as possible to the original discs. A real treasure." Report Abuse
