Notes and Editorial Reviews
It is CORO’s great pleasure to release the third CD in its series with the Handel and Haydn Society! Composed in 1779, the Mass in C major (Coronation Mass) is one of the most popular of Mozart’s 17 extant settings of the Ordinary of the Mass. This disc also features Haydn’s Symphony No. 85, which was a favorite of Marie Antoinette, leading it to become known as “La Reine.”
