This sequel to the much-lauded Canto Ergo Sum features lovely songs performed by a brilliant boy soprano. The beautiful harmonies nurture peace of mind and impart consolation, warmth, and hope. This is a recording that seeks common ground between classical music and folk tunes. The breadth of the music Benjamin Isachsen has selected showcases his musicality, the quality of his voice, and his ability to express himself.

R E V I E W S:

It is the rare classical singer who records two albums before his voice breaks. That Benjamin Isachsen has done just that is indeed gratifying because his voice is unique and because a repertoire particularly suited to the fleeting existence of a boy soprano voice has seldom been recorded. On the whole, Isachsen sings with complete confidence and impressive clarity. His phrasing is musical and sincere, not least on pieces bearing the signature of Johann Sebastian Bach. His choice of "Laudate Dominum" by Wolfgang Amadeus Mozart is also appropriate for his young voice. Organist Magne H. Draagen contributes fitting registrations, attentive accompaniment, and pleasant instrumental numbers, crowned by Elise Båtnes's violin and the cello playing of Ann Stine Dahl . . . We can, for the time being, take delight in the bright and pleasing sound. It stands on its own.

-- Astrid Kvalbein, Aftenposten

Benjamin Isachsen not only attains the highest notes, his rich sonority is unique even for a well-trained boy soprano. And given the measured timespan, it is fitting that this recording has preserved and documented Benjamin's exceptional soprano voice for posterity. Listening to a long, high note from the silver-lined throat, it is difficult to distinguish it from the violin—a boy soprano Stradivarius with a purity and timbre that gently teases the ears.

-- Lars Flydal, Vårt Land
