Not Recommended for Purchase November 10, 2012 By Carl P Nordmark (Northfield, NH) See All My Reviews "This could have been another wonderful presentation of the Operatic World's "Voice of the Century", Maria Callas's music, voice and life. It was not for two reasons. First, the music disc is defective from track 8 onward, with intermittant stops and starts and audible clicks. After I complained after receiving the first order, Arkiv replaced it immediately. The second received disc was also defective from track 8 onward. I informed Arkiv, that there was a reasonable chance that their whole stock was defective, and to check it. If you are really into audio/video capture, editing and burning to disc, as I am, then you can solve your own problem, as I did, by "ripping" the original sound track from the disc, editing it, and then burning it to disc. Once you can listen to Maria Callas's beautiful voice, singing these selected arias, it is really wonderful. Second, whoever wrote the synopsis of Maria Callas's performing life, was obviously totally ignorant of the facts. It was incredibly frustrating reading this synopsis,to read what was an outright falsehood, and and what was left out. The only thing good about this, were the pictures in the little included book. But,then again, this was frustrating too, because the reviewer made comments about the significance of pictured personna in her life, that were just not true!!" Report Abuse
