Notes and Editorial Reviews

Tamás Varga, the principal cellist of the Vienna Philharmonic Orchestra and also renowned as a soloist, performs three masterworks that were not originally conceived for cello, two of which, by Schubert and Beethoven, have become favorites with cellists and audiences alike. The Violin Sonata Op.78 by Brahms is also heard in a luminous arrangement for cello and piano.
